August Game Acquisitions

I suppose August isn't over yet so there could be more purchases to add to my backlog with no intention to finish.  You'd think it was a theme around here or something....  Besides my NSMB pre-order, I just picked up three more games last week.  Without further delay hit the jump for more details:

Rayman Origins (Wii)

While walking through BestBuy for an un-related purchase I happened to notice Rayman Origins and Super Street Fighter IV 3D for sale for $9.99!!  I though "hey, how freaking lucky is that?  I should probably just walk through retail store more often...."  Some of that luck wore off a bit when I later saw it was in the weekly store advertisement.  Nevertheless it's a good deal and seems like a cool game.

Excitebike 3D (3DS eShop)

I remember Excitebike for the NES and have some distinct memories of playing it on Christmas with a neighbor in the 80's.  Nostalgia aside I thought it was somewhat fun, but wasn't overly blown away when I heard about the 3DS re-make.  Enter Club Nintendo and for 150 points it may not have been the best buy, but I thought I would give it a whirl.

Lesson learned from some time with it this past week:  damn this is kind of hard!  It's still a quick fun game though I think it could have really benefited from some leaderboards and track downloads.  I mean, they give you an editor, why wouldn't you want to share it?

Fluidity (WiiWare)

WiiWare sucks, right?  Well, sure, some of it does, but every so often a game comes along and surprises you.  For me that was Fluidity when I demoed it in early 2011.  The game looks really good, controls well, keeps your attention and has alot of polish.  What else would you want?  I don't think the $12 asking price is out of line, but I held off on a purchase at the time.  Once again the club had this for 150 points which was an absolute steal in my opinion.  If you're still reading this today, 8/19, then THIS IS THE LAST DAY FOR FLUIDITY.  Otherwise you're too late.

Conclusion

Hopefully we're still on schedule for a delivery of our stuff in late August which includes the Wii.  I can't believe it's been in storage for that long.  I hope it still works!  (oh yeah, and that they don't break the other 12,000 lbs of our stuff...)

Did you purchase anything in August and what do you think of the above games?
